Part 1: The Wedding
So today was not really my day. I woke up expecting to be present at my dad's wedding. He was getting married today, even though they went to the Justice of the Peace, it was still a memorable moment. Didn't know what time it was going to take place, but I wanted to be in the area and ready. But little did I know that I was not going to be a part of his joy and excitement. I got a call just as I entered the city, saying he was already married. Needless to say I was crushed, seeing as how I am his only child and he couldn't invite me to the courthouse. Then what adds salt to injury, he was fine with it. It seemed as if he didn't have a care in the world and that hurt me. True I know we have not been as close as we used to, but something like this. . . .I think this takes the cake.

Hair, Hair, Hair
It has been a little over two years since I have received a relaxer. I love being natural. It is the best hair choice I have ever made. My hair is stronger, thicker, and fuller than it used to be. When I wear my hair in my big puff, everybody says it completes me. BUT I am starting to get tired of wearing my hair in the same ole style. I want to experiment, but I am clueless of where to begin. I need a good regimen and some good products to use. Most importantly I need a GREAT not good moisturizer. Any tips people?

Telephone Tag
Another night I have spent semi waiting on you to call me. . . and I hate it. You said you probably will spend your evening out on the beach and that was about it. You gave this whole speech on 'I love you and I realize I want to spen my life with you. Being here doesn't matter with me, I rather spend my time talking to you. . .' That was 7 hours ago. I know you are not walking on the beach at 3 o'clock am your time. If you are you are either 1) A future storyline for CSI: Miami or 2) Kicking it with someone else. Either way I hope you are safe. But if you are out clubbing or whatever, I am a little upset. Not upset because I don't want you to have fun, I'm not like that. I am upset because you told me one thing and it turns out you do another. I am not looking for a call every 5 minutes, but it would be nice, maybe even considerate, to let me know not to wait up for a Skype or Oovo. Tonight makes the third time. I am always saying 'you are in Miami, have fun go out. I don't mind. .' I would want you to tell me the same thing. But don't sit here and tell me 'Ima have a nice night in after a walk on the beach and chat with you cause I love you and I miss you.' Don't feed me that. Cause I end up feeling like I'm holding you back from having fun.

Sitting in class with time to spare thinking about the upcoming semester. I put my classes in for the fall and my organization schedule is already made. So today I will be coming both schedules into my personal calendar. The only schedule I won't have will be my work schedule. I am a Resident Assistant (RA) at my school, and although it doesn't pay much, it is a job. Plus it is conditioning me on working with people. I can see now that I will be busy this entire fall. But that could be a good thing, seeing how it will force me to stay on my game as a student and as an employee.
Speaking of working, even though I will be working as a RA, I will still need some more income coming in. I am thinking about applying to be a Saturday Science tutor. Now who will want me to be a tutor, I don't know, but I am hoping they will hire me to do secreterial work. I will type and answer phones all day, as long as I am getting paid. Working at my church when I was younger should me that I actually kinda like 'desk work'. I like order and doing things in a timely manner. Which probably explains why I loved working at McDonald's. If a McDonald's is ran properly and proper procedures are being followed, then it is a well working place.

What Chaps my @**: 101
There are few things that chaps my hide. Some of them I look at in disgust and go on about my business. Then there are some things that I have to vent about. This is one of them.
My people, my people when will we ever do things right?
So I'm in class right, and in comes this guy a whole 30 minutes late. He tells the teacher that today is his first day. Um...today is Friday and class started on Wednesday, sir you are a whole two days behind. His reason 'I just registered not too long ago.' << really 0_o Why am I not surprised. Now first let me say this, I am not perfect. I have waited until the last minute to do something, but never like this. And by judging the tone in his voice he was sincere about it. Ha!
Then to make matters even better for those of the colored persuasion, two more gentlemen waltz in class like there were early for an all you can eat buffet. But even better, one of the guys smelled like p.o.d. weed. I mean really. If you don't have any respect for your fellow classmates, at least have some respect for yourself. Not that I am bashing him for partaking in such activities, but please don't come to class smelling like that. Not only does it look and smell bad for you, it puts an image in other people's mind (ex. non-colored teacher) about us as a people.

iLove my natural hair
I got my last relaxer June 27, 2009 and I have not look back since then. I love my curls and kinks, even though some days they get the best of me. I am always on the lookout for a new product to try and review. You can't go natural without being some sort of a product junkie. Currently I am on the prowl for a really good moisturizer and curling creme. I am also looking to color my hair, but this time I am going to do my research 1st before just slapping some dye up there. Last time I ended up using about 3 dyes before my hair even turned a different color. This time I'm thinking about doing a henna dye. I want it to be an earthy color. Something different but not too different or drastic.
I am also looking for different ways to style my hair. i have been wearing my hair in a puff since January 2010. Recently I have been putting my hair up in 2 strand twists. I want to try some Bantu twist, I think they will look really cute on my head. People say I should get locks, but I think I am going to wait on those. I can see myself getting them, but there are some other goals I want to accomplish before I go straight to locks. My first goal is to acheive length. I want to have uber soft hair that just about pass my shoulders. One thing I have noticed about my hair is that the longer it gets the looser my curl pattern becomes. Now don't get me wrong its not a drastic change, but it is a change. One change that I dont not mind.
Anywho that is all I have for now. I will leave you with a few products that I currently am using.
Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Conditioner ***** I love this stuff
Suave Professional Almond & Shea Butter Conditioner
Kinky Curly Curling Custard

Looking Back
The other day I stumbled upon a script for a book that I had started when I was 14-15. When I read it, I felt a sense of how my life was like 7 years ago. Immediately I thought about the good times I had with my friends and how I loved school. I remember I wanted to be Mrs. Grandberry, that was what I lived for. School was my happiness and so was my job (McDonald's...can you say the fastest cashier within my first week working there)
But then those thoughts were short lived as I also stumbled upon a mini journal that I had kept. Just reading about what I had to go through back then almost brought tears to me eyes. Honestly I can say I felt sorry for that person back then. Reading that journal made me feel as if I was watching a Lifetime movie. Thinking about all that I have been through and where I am now, I feel pretty damn good about myself. People may look at me and just see me as another somebody, but when I look at me I see somebody who has just about been through it all and is still standing strong. (Thank-You Father)
So as I look on up ahead, I see nothing but good times. Of course there will be some bumps in the road, but I believe I have the strength to endure it all. That's it for now. Drop you another line at another time. Peace

End of semester blue hues...
Final week is here and while most people are happy to be finishing with school I am dreding it. But I have nobody to blame for my situation but me. I really have disappionted myself this time and I will suffer for it. The only good thing I can say is that I will do better next time. All this bullsh!tting I did this semester...is gonna set me back. I know it. Sometimes I sit and ask how could I let myself get behind in so much work, but I know how. Laziness and procrastination. I'm 21 about to be 22 in a couple days and I'm still slew footing shit. Gots to do better.....

School and ish.....
Sitting here at the desk with nothing to do. Could be studying, but I think I have already checked out of this semester a long time ago. Sad I know, but its true. Honestly I think this is the first semester that I did what I wanted to do. Beforehand I was in nursing school...somewhere I thought I* wanted to be. But now I think that is what people wanted for me. It wasn't totally in my heart 100%. Then whatever I had in my heart to be a nurse, the nursing school I went to stomped that out of me. When I left in December, I didn't want to see a thermometer. I was heartbroken and I felt defeated....so where do I go from there?
So now I am in the nutrition program at my school. I know that I need to get a degree and hey its better than nothing. Plus I am always looking at the label on different stuff for nutrition facts. I kinda like it. Only thing is I have to be on my grind for these next 3 semesters.....Ugh. I hate that I will be in school longer, but I got to do what I have to do. Plus if I was going back to nursing school, I would be finishing in about the same length of time. I hate that nursing still hangs over my head. My plan now is to graduate and move to Texas. More specifically Houston. I want to work for Women, Infants, and Children. It has always been my dream to work with teen/young moms. My mom was young and my best friend was a teen mom so I kinda know what they are going through. I think I can make a difference in their lives.

Testing 1...2...3
Ok, so I am new to this blog thing. But it is like me to jump on board with something like its new when it is old and dying out. I follow a couple of people's blog and I figured that I would give it a try. Although I don't really know what to write. I guess it will be like keeping an online journal. Hopefully I will get some type of feedback {positive} and some followers.
Damn...I'm am starting to bore myself.
So um...ok...that's it for the first blog. Maybe I will have an interesting topic for you next time.
XOXOXOX
